Oftentimes the milling of American hardwood floors leaves something to be desired. If you want less creaking and a superior furniture finish, consider our two favorite Canadian hardwood brands: Lauzon and Mercier.
I know it sounds unpatriotic, but we're finding that American hardwood floors are inferior to the woods that we're getting out of Canada. The difference is in the quality of the milling and how the boards fit together. Unfortunately, with a lot of American mills, we're finding we're getting pieces that don't go together well.
What does this mean? With a lot of USA hardwood floors, you might get creaking and separation.
At Island Carpet, we have two premiere Canadian lines: Lauzon and Mercier. The boards fit together beautifully and also feature a furniture finish.
