"If you’re looking for convenience, choose click LVP. If you want something that’s more flexible and allows you to replace damage planks, choose glue down."
Ken's In-Depth Answer:
"Today, I want to talk to you about LVP—luxury vinyl plank. It’s probably the hottest product we’ve seen in the floor covering industry for decades.
LVP is waterproof, it’s extremely resilient, and it’s very easy to maintain. And most times, what people go out and buy is what we call a clic product. That’s a product that you can actually snap together. It’s easy to install—some people might even choose to do it themselves.
On the other hand, I’m finding many customers nowadays are moving toward the more traditional glue-down luxury vinyl plank. One of the advantages of that product is that you can more easily replace damaged planks. (With a clic product, if a plank is damaged, you really can’t take it out of the middle of the floor. You have to unclick all the rows until you get to the damaged plank.)
The other thing about glue-down LVP is that generally speaking it’s more flexible than the clic LVP. That means that if you have some humps and dips in the floor, it’s going to be a more successful installation. It also helps that you’re actually gluing the product down!
At the end of the day, there are a lot of things that enter into the decision. Am I looking for something where I can replace a plank? Am I looking for something where I might be able to accommodate and slight dip or hump in the floor? Or, do I want the convenience and the ease of installation associated with a click product?
