Yes, vinyl plank comes in herringbone patterns! We love how this installation turned out in a kitchen.
You don’t want to spend thousands on a floor that has more color or character variation than you expect. So remember, when it comes to flooring samples, what you see may NOT be what you get.
Most often, we can offer a full-size plank for you to look at. And increasingly, samples will have a room scene you can take a look at right on the sample board. If samples don't have a picture, there may be a QR code that you can scan to see what it looks like in a room. Sometimes, you can even take a picture of your own room to see what the product will look like in your own house.
With most LVP/LVT (luxury vinyl plank) products, it's true water won't harm the product.
Here's the problem: Water is just going to sit underneath and maybe grow black mold until you find a way to get rid of it. Most of the time, you wind up rolling back the floor, unlocking the planks, drying up the floor, and re-installing it again. That's not an inexpensive prospect!
If you're concerned by little scuffs and scratches on your floor, go with LVT. If you don't care about those little marks, feel free to choose hardwood.
LVT wood-look floors have made tremendous progress. They're waterproof, they don't show wear and tear as much, and they're great for an active household with kids and pets. Think hard about what your expectations are for your floor, and we'll help you make the right decision.
Your floor doesn't have to be level. As far as I'm concerned, your room could be built on a hill and have a slope to it. But there are two conditions that are absolutely critical for the installation of any hard surface rigid product. First, the floor has to be flat. Second, the floor has to be firm.
Remember: firm and flat. Just like you want to be when you leave the gym!
If you've got some minor irregularities, your floor contractor can probably come and patch the floor in order to give you a flat surface. But we have to look at it first and see whether or not the floor is going to sustain an installation of these products.
Just like mom jeans and corduroy, laminate floors are making a comeback! The bottom line? Laminate is no laughingstock. It's now a real alternative to the everpresent luxury vinyl plank.
Laminate's strengths include its thickness and (likely) lower price. We'll help you dive into the details.
